A Brooklyn-Bound Holiday Party

December 18, 2001, 12:00 AM EST

As an alternative to the standard Manhattan holiday fare, Tony Napoli, who runs Briggs Red Carpet, a 25-year-old destination management company, will host a special bus trip through Brooklyn to reward the firm's friends, employees, vendors and clients. For the past twelve years, Napoli has been hosting a Christmas Light Excursion by bus showing off the lavish decorations that decorate the borough. “The lights of Brooklyn make Macy's look humble,” he says.

Fifty people will meet at Sardi's, board a luxuryAcademy bus equipped with champagne and Christmas music, and head to Dyker Heights, Brooklyn. (A few highlights: the Comito and Melina families' homes at 8220 and 8224 15th Avenue, and the Polizotto and Spata families' homes at 1145 and 1152 84th Street, where you'll find larger-than-life Dickens characters.)

The trip also includes a group photo taken at the River Cafe, with the New York skyline in the background. Capping off the night will be an authentic Italian banquet in Bay Ridge at Mambo Italiano at 8803 Third Avenue, where Italian karaoke is the house entertainment. And guests get to watch a South Park Christmas video on the bus ride back to Manhattan. Briggs runs similar trips for clients throughout the holiday season.
