The frigid weather outside perfectly matched the decor inside Lighthouse International's Winternight 2001 dinner. Sung Jung of Doro's Annex transformed the Broadway Ballroom of the Marriott Marquis into a glowing winter wonderland for the benefit.

At the black-tie event, Lighthouse International, an organization that helps people with severe vision impairment, presented a lifetime achievement award to Saks Fifth Avenue president and CEO Christina Johnson for her philanthropic work. (One of Johnson's recent charitable endeavors with Saks was September's Fashion Targets Breast Cancer benefit.)

To create the enchanting outdoor-themed decor, Jung placed tall glass vases filled with towering quince branches in the center of the tables, and surrounded the vases with woodgrass, white votives and small, delicate white narcissus flowers. Jung also hung white votive candles inside small glass globes from the branches. With just a few ceiling lights turned on in the dining room, the space was filled with a warm glow from the candles. The atmosphere mixed the look of a clear winter's night with the comfort of the Marquis' nicely-heated ballroom--a good thing for the many fashion industry guests in strappy dresses.
