BiZBash Newspaper Names New York's Top 100 Events
|
|
New York, New York - March 11, 2003 - The Tony
Awards, the New York International Auto Show and American
Ballet Theatre's Spring Gala all made BiZBash Media's
second annual list of "New York's Top 100 Events" in
the latest issue of The BiZBash Event Style Reporter
newspaper. The event industry newspaper is published
by BiZBash Media, the media source for meeting and event
planners in New York City.
The BiZBash editors ranked the 100 events in 13 categories,
identifying the most important events in nine industries
(including media, food/restaurants, fashion and advertising/PR)
and the biggest trade shows, benefits, parade and sports
events. The MTV Video Music Awards were named the top
entertainment industry event, and the National Magazine
Awards were named the top media industry event.
Other events on the list include The Macy's Thanksgiving
Day Parade, the National Book Awards, the Rock and Roll
Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, the James Beard Awards
and the Greater New York Dental Meeting.
Other stories in the issue include:
- Behind the Scenes at the Biggest Grammy Parties
- How New York's Smoking Ban Affects Events
- Are Big-Name Bands Still Big for Events?
- 5 Hot Speakers
- New Venue Guide: Listings of New York's Latest
Spaces
This is the fifth issue of BiZBash's four-color tabloid-sized
newspaper. Marketing partners and advertisers included
in the 64-page issue include The New York Times,
Restaurant Associates, the New York Marriott Marquis,
ESPN Zone and Chanterelle.
BiZBash Media launched the BiZBash Event Style Reporter
newspaper last year to complement the company's online
service, BiZBash.com, and its annual trade show, the BiZBash
Javits Meeting and Event Expo-The Fresh Idea Show. The
first issue debuted in March 2002 with a circulation of
20,000.
BiZBash Media publishes the BiZBash Event Style Reporter
newspaper and the BiZBash Event Style Alert email newsletter,
and hosts the annual BiZBash Javits Meeting and Event
Expo-The Fresh Idea Show. The company was founded on the
premise that the regional meeting, event and trade show
market is underserved. Prior to September 11, 2001, New
York hosted more than 100,000 business events and meetings
each year, representing a $4 billion marketplace.
