New York, New York - October 11, 2004 - BiZBash announces
this year’s Hall of Fame inductees, honoring giants
in the special events industry. The 10 inductees will
be feted with a champagne cocktail reception from 4:30
PM to 5:30 PM, followed by the 30-minute ceremony that
begins at 6 PM, on October 14, 2004, at Pier 94 in New
York. The festivities are part of BiZBash Media’s
Fourth Annual Event Style Show, a trade show for the special
events industry.
David Adler, founder and C.E.O. of BiZBash Media, says,
“Our inductees have each made a significant contribution
to not only the events industry, but also toward the economy
and overall fiscal health of New York City. It gives me
great pleasure to honor them.”

Honoree Bios
Preston Robert Tisch, chairman of Loews Corporation
Bob Tisch is chairman of Loews Corporation, one of the
country’s largest and most successful financial
companies, and chairman and cochief executive officer
of football’s New York Giants. The company dates
back to a summer camp in New Jersey run by Tisch and his
brother Laurence, followed by the purchase of a hotel
in Lakewood, New Jersey, and the formation of Tisch Hotels,
Inc. In 1959, the Tisch brothers bought a controlling
interest in Loews Theatres Inc., a real estate-rich theater
chain. This investment formed the basis for the modern
day Loews Corporation, which was created in 1969.
The Glazier Family & The Glazier Group
As C.E.O. and founder of The Glazier Group, Peter Glazier
owns and operates, along with his wife, Penny, and son,
Matthew, several successful New York venues, and employs
more than 600 full-time employees in addition to several
hundred part-time workers for catering events. The company’s
venues include The Steakhouse at Monkey Bar in the Hotel
Elysée (NYC), Michael Jordan’s The Steak
House N.Y.C. in Grand Central Terminal, Strip House (NYC/NJ),
and several special event and catering facilities: Twenty
Four Fifth (NYC), Bridgewaters at the South Street Seaport
(NYC), and an 800-seat ballroom space at The Westminster
Hotel (NJ). The Glazier family is respected as one of
the nation’s most astute restaurateur groups because
they know how to create restaurants with ambience, service,
food, and style that continually wow diners.
Peter Kohlmann, director of operations, New
York Host Committee, 2004 Republican National Convention
After more than two decades of event production, image
marketing, and neighborhood development, Peter Kohlmann
formed PeKo Productions in June 2000. Kohlmann specializes
in developing and producing large-scale events, the development
of marketing and promotional programs, and providing strategic
planning services for corporate, nonprofit, and entertainment-related
clients. Recent clients of Kohlmann and his firm include:
the Office of the Mayor, City of New York, to produce
and coordinate the visit of Congress to the city—its
first since 1789. The project required working directly
with the clerk of the house, secretary of the senate,
and the mayor’s office to create a September 11th
commemorative meeting at Federal Hall. Other recent creations
have been the conceptual development and planning of The
New York Times 150th Anniversary Celebration.
Radio City Music Hall
Since opening its doors on December 27, 1932, Radio City
Music Hall has been host to hundreds of the entertainment
industry’s premier events, films, concerts, and
theatricals. It is also the home of the No. 1 precision
dance company, the world-famous Radio City Rockettes.
Over the past 80 years, more than 300 million visitors
from around the world have entered the music hall’s
legendary doors, captivated by the beauty of the grand
foyer and Ezra Winter’s landmark Fountain of Youth
mural, and amazed by the hall’s great stage.
The Actors’ Fund
The Actors’ Fund of America, founded in 1882, is
the national human service organization dedicated to helping
all entertainment professionals in theater, television,
film, music, opera, and dance. The Actors’ Fund’s
broad spectrum of programs, designed to address the needs
of its community, includes comprehensive social services,
supportive and affordable housing, career counseling,
and skilled nursing and assisted living care. Administered
from offices in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago, these
programs help people solve problems and make positive
changes in their lives.
Ed Kane, director of catering, Sheraton Hotels
of New York
A respected leader with more than 30 years of hospitality
experience, Edward P. Kane is the director of catering
for the Sheraton Hotels of New York. In this role, Kane
directly oversees the operations, development, sales,
and marketing of the catering sales operation. Kane has
been with the hotel since 1969, when it was the Americana
Hotel of New York. He is active in many travel industry
organizations as well as community activities. Kane serves
as chairman for the Governor’s Tourism Advisory
Council; is a board member of the New York Convention
Center Operating Corporation (Jacob K. Javits Convention
Center); is a [the?]commissioner for Long Island State
Parks; and is a member of the New York City Sports Development
Corporation.
Jack Morton Worldwide
Jack Morton Worldwide creates experiences that help the
world’s leading companies improve performance, increase
sales, and build brands. In addition to live events, branded
environments, and interactive experiences that engage,
educate, and entertain employee, business, and consumer
audiences, Jack Morton also creates large-scale, globally
televised ceremonies such as the opening and closing ceremonies
of the 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Athens. Jack Morton
has a staff of 600 employees throughout the United States,
Europe, and Asia-Pacific, and is part of the Interpublic
Group of companies.
Barbara Tober, chairwoman of the Museum of
Arts & Design
Barbara Tober is president of Acronym Inc., a venture
capital firm that invests in art-related projects. Tober’s
foundation funds an educational arts project for children
nationwide, called Quilts Across America. Prior to her
career in the world of the arts and craftsmanship, she
spent more than four decades in the corporate advertising
and magazine world, most recently at Condé Nast’s
Bride’s magazine, where she was editor –in
chief for almost 30 years.
Tom Finn, Tom Finn Productions
Tom Finn, the renowned New York DJ, began his musical
career as an original member of the group, The Left Banke,
whose smash hit “Walk Away Renee” was inducted
into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as one of the best
songs of the rock era. Finn was the original DJ at Heartbreak,
the legendary dance club that set the trend for rock clubs
in the 80’s. He topped that career high by moving
to the Palladium, New York’s largest dance club
of the 80’s, spinning on the main floor for three
years. Currently, Finn is New York’s No. 1 society
DJ, whose clients include celebrities, royalty, fashion
and business moguls, and numerous fundraising organizations.
Edna Greenbaum, founder & executive director
of the Council of Protocol Executives
Edna Greenbaum is the founder and executive director of
the Council of Protocol Executives (COPE) and the publisher
of PROTOCOL,[should this be ital if it’s a book?]
the international directory for executive entertaining
meetings and special events. She has held such distinct
positions as director of public affairs and circulation
at Black Enterprise magazine. Greenbaum has also worked
at Hispanic Business magazine and Elan and has been a
participant in many political campaigns, including Senator
Robert Kennedy’s. In 1988 Greenbaum brought together
a group of 10 men and women to organize COPE, a unique
association dedicated to raising the level of professionalism
for executive-level business meetings and entertainment.
There are now more than 275 members of COPE.
The fourth annual BiZBash Event Style Show is the ultimate
gathering for professional event planners that are the
