BIZBASH MEDIA EXPANDS TO NEW MARKETS, LAUNCHES NATIONAL
VENUE GUIDE, MOVES OFFICES, AND INCREASES PERSONNEL |

New York, New York - February 15, 2006 - BiZBash
Media Founder and CEO David Adler announced today that
BiZBash Media, the publisher of trade magazines, Web
sites and producer of live events servicing the corporate
special events industry in major markets including New
York, Toronto and Florida launches in the Los Angeles
and Southern California today in Los Angeles and Southern
California with a Web site dedicated to the event planners
market. This rollout marks the company’s six-year
anniversary.
- The Los Angeles & Southern California bi-weekly,
electronic newsletter will showcase the most interesting
local events and feature listings of the latest venues
and resources in each market. The first quarterly
edition of Los Angeles’ edition of BiZBash
magazine will debut in June 2006.
- As part of this launch, BiZBash readers will now
be able to select Web sites that focus specifically
on their local market. By visiting www.BiZBash.com,
users will be able to choose local Web sites for New
York, Los Angeles/Southern California, Florida and
Toronto.
- The BiZBash National Venue Guide will launch its
2007 edition in December 2006. This 200-page publication
will have an online and print component and be distributed
to a list of 15,000 qualified multi-market power planners.
- BiZBash.com recently completed a project to create
online venue guides down to a neighborhood level.
- The BiZBash Freelancers Marketplace rolls out later
this month. This online source allows freelancers
to post resumes online for $33 a month, while planners
will be able to search for freelancers to meet every
event staffing need.
- The Fifth Annual BiZBash Event Style Awards will
be held on April 05, 2006 at Pacha.
- The 2006 BiZBash M&C Meeting and Event Style
Show will take place on Thursday, November 9, 2006
at Pier 94 in New York City.
- BiZBash Toronto’s third trade show took place
at The National Trade Centre, Heritage Court on January
31 and February 1.
New Offices
On February 1, BiZBash Media officially moved to its
new corporate offices at 21 West 38th Street, 13th Floor,
New York, NY 10018. On April 1, BiZBash opens its Los
Angeles office at 8436 West Third, Suite 650, Los Angeles,
California, 90048.
New People and Promotions
Elisabeth Familian has been named president of BiZBash’s
California operation. Familian was the founder and C.E.O.
of Masterplanner Media, the multimedia event conflict
resolution calendar in multiple markets, publisher of
Inside Events magazine, and cofounder of giveadonation.com.
Most recently, Familian, who is active in nonprofit
and community organizations in California and New York,
was vice president of relationship development for Kintera
Inc., following its acquisition of both Masterplanner
and giveadonation.com.
Bobbi Proctor has been named Publisher, BiZBash Los
Angeles & Southern California. Most recently, Proctor
was the Regional Sales Manager for Meetings West
magazine. She spent nine years as Associate Producer
for Agenda Publications handling the launches for Southern
California, Las Vegas and Arizona.
Alesandra Dubin was promoted to Los Angeles Bureau Chief,
BiZBash Los Angeles & Southern California. Dubin
most recently served as Associate Editor in BiZBash’s
New York office. She has a background in retail, fashion,
and entertainment writing, and a master’s degree
in journalism from New York University. The relocation
to Los Angeles marks a return to her hometown.
Sarah Welt has been named Marketing Manager, BiZBash
Media. Most recently, Welt was an Assistant Marketing
Manager for Oxford Press in their Academic Science division
and previously worked as a Copywriter for MTV Networks.
Katie Ligon was promoted to Marketing Associate and
Associate Office Manager. Ligon was most recently an
intern in the BiZBash marketing Department.
New Partners
!5 Minutes, A PR firm recently started by Howard Bragman,
former Founder of BNC (Bragman Nyman Cafarelli), has
been hired to help launch BiZBash Los Angeles.
BiZBash is now using P2P Publishing as its Web-based
advertising management system.
In June of 2005, BiZBash switched its printing contract
to RR Donnelley, the largest magazine printer in the
United States.
BiZBash Media is the authority for
anyone who plans, designs, or influences corporate and
non-profit events. The company publishes magazines,
hosts Web sites, and produces trade shows for the event
industry in New York, Florida, Toronto, and now Los
Angeles & Southern California.
In just six years, BiZBash has become the largest Web
site on the Internet serving New York City event and
meeting planners, event producers, and marketers responsible
for producing the more than 110,000 corporate and non-profit
events held annually.
