| Splash Ultra Lounge and Burger Bar Brings a Vegas Vibe to Leather District |
|
Splash Ultra Lounge and Burger Bar—the latest venture from Boston restaurateur Frank DePasquale of Bricco, Il Panino, and Mare—opened last week in the former home of News. The 250-person capacity venue brings South Beach just blocks from South Station via one of the city’s only rooftop decks. The outdoor space features private cabanas, a decorative fountain, DJ area, and full bar.
Inside the trilevel venue, the entrance has built-in shelves stocked with champagne opposite a glass waterfall-inspired wall. A dark wood, stone-topped bar separates two first-floor lounges. Black leather seating and a flat-screen TV offer an upscale yet relaxed vibe on one side; gray carpet, striped seating, and small tables suitable for dining occupy the other. Both are available for buyouts. |

A V.I.P. room with overstuffed mahogany-toned couches and a flat-screen TV seats 15, while another first-floor room available for private parties offers up two pool tables, a full bar, and capacity for 50 guests. There is a similar room on the second floor.
In addition to Splash’s signature cocktails, bottle service is available throughout the venue, with prices ranging from $110 to $600 per bottle for everything from Belvedere to Cristal. Splash’s menu of tapas, salads, and burgers reads like a greatest hits compilation from DePasquale’s dining hotspots; the burger list bucks predictability with options such as pulled pork, lobster, and salmon.
