In a recent Web poll, the Los Angeles Business Journal asked readers to respond to the question of why L.A. Fashion Week lacks the pizzazz of fashion weeks in other cities like New York, and what organizers could do to improve the event's luster. More than half of the small group of respondents think the answer is to recruit bigger-name designers, while 17 percent figure organizers need to attract more celebrities, and 29 percent think the whole thing should move downtown.
Next week, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week takes to Smashbox Studios in Culver City, from March 9 to 13.
