| Rosenthal Group Launches Eco-Friendly In-Office Catering Option |

Just in time for Earth Day yesterday, restaurant company the Rosenthal Group unveiled its new solar-powered electric delivery truck, nicknamed ZEEC (Zero Emissions Electric Caterer), which will operate out of the company's five Sopraffina Marketcaffe locations. The green truck is the first of its kind in Chicago.
ZEEC will primarily provide office catering to clients such as AON Corporation and Deloitte—organizations based within a 60-mile radius of the Marketcaffes (all of which are located in the business district). The truck can transport meals for groups of eight to 250, primarily serving continental breakfasts, boxed lunches, hot and cold buffets, and the occasional reception.
Rosenthal Group president Dan Rosenthal, a founding member of the Green Chicago Restaurant Co-op, aims to pave the way for other eco-minded companies in the catering industry. "It's certainly cost-effective," he told us yesterday. "This product costs less than $20,000, and the mileage cost is only two to three cents a mile. Plus, [we're] not putting carbon emissions into the air."
