| Blo.Dri, a hair finishing salon that specializes in up-dos and blowouts for women, opened in River North on Monday. Its other services include makeup application, curling, and the signature "champagne blo.out," which lets guests sip bubbly while stylists tend to their hair.
Here's why you're reading about this here: The salon hosts private events, dubbed "Blo.bashes," that accommodate as many as 40 guests, though salon owners say it's easier to work with groups of 20 to 25 if every guest wants a service within an event's usual two-and-a-half hour time frame.
The salon works with a list of preferred caterers and can provide anything from gourmet pizza and wine to passed hors d'oeuvres and champagne; a long table near the front of the space can be used to hold a buffet.
Upon departure, all Blo.bash guests are treated to product-filled gift bags.
