| Crain's Recommends Eve, Sixteen for Business Lunches |
|
On Wednesday, Crain's Chicago Business released a viral video that revealed its dining critics' picks for the city's best new business-lunch spots. Critic Alison Lara chose Eve, a Gold Coast eatery that we featured in October.
Lara classified the venue as "sleek, and elegant," but with a "hip vibe" that makes it stand out in a neighborhood that can "sometimes be a little bit stodgy." She added that the restaurant's menu features "exciting" and "international" cuisine—a contrast to some of the basic steakhouse fare at its surrounding establishments—and recommended the prawns with pomegranate glaze, lobster sausage, and crab B.L.T. sandwich.
For her part, critic Laura Bianchi chose Sixteen, a fine-dining establishment in Trump International Hotel & Tower. "It's the kind of place that you go to when you really want that wow factor," she said, citing the venue's high ceilings, 14-foot chandelier, and cityscape views as impressive lunchtime surroundings. As for menu recommendations, Bianchi singled out the Cobb salad and Reuben sandwich; she also liked the venue's roasted acorn-squash salad, "velvety" cheese ale soup, and "beautifully seasoned" gnocchi with duck confit.
