CHICAGO With her new company, Bottles and Brushes, Stephanie King creates customized events for corporate groups of 15 to 150. As its name suggests, the service focuses on drinking and painting, and during two- or three-hour-long sessions, participants learn to recreate a work from a local artist. King brings the original work for guests to replicate—along with canvases, paints, and all other necessary art supplies—to event spaces throughout the city and suburbs, and classes are led by professional artists. At the end of each session, guests get to take their work of art home. Each event costs $35 to $45 per person. For an extra charge, King can arrange for a sommelier to expertly guide guests through a wine tasting. She can also arrange for catered food and beverage packages and takeaway gifts such as keepsake paintbrushes.
