Earlier this week, Sunda unveiled a new private dining space. On the upper level of the nine-month-old New Asian restaurant in River North, the banquet room can be configured to host seated dinners for 20 or 100 guests; receptions with seated dinners can accommodate 20 to 80. Buffet service and passed appetizers are available.
The room includes rectangular and round tables, brown linens, and padded Chiavari chairs. For additional fees, staffers can arrange for audiovisual services, logoed napkins, and upgraded linens. A DJ and jazz trio are also available, though hosts can opt to play the venue's in-house soundtrack of lounge music.
The private dining room hosted its first official event, a benefit for Filipino typhoon victims, on Tuesday night. For the occasion, executive chef Rodelio Aglibot prepared a family-style meal for 100. Selections in the four-course dinner included crispy pork-and-shrimp egg rolls and confit pork shank with garlic foie gravy and wilted greens. More information on Sunda is available here.
