CHICAGO These two new services cater to cookie lovers with group activities or sweet meeting snacks.

1. Galit Greenfield launched her Chicago-based company, Sweet Galit, last July. The French Pastry School graduate caters meetings and events with her fresh, seasonal pastries, and also leads baking classes for corporate groups. Classes typically cost about $60 per head and have 10 to 30 participants. Greenfield can bring baking supplies to offices or event spaces and delivers instructions on whipping up treats such as cookies, macaroons, or cupcakes. She can also work with hosts to incorporate custom teambuilding exercises.

2. Cookie Bar opened in Lincoln Park late last month. Outfitted with disco balls and bright orange walls, the funky bakery offers a rotating array of 18 daily cookie flavors. Selections include Butterfinger, sugar, and oatmeal-chili-mango-macadamia nut. Gluten-free and vegan varieties are also available. The shop's owners can put together orders for groups of 10 to 100 on short notice. To prepare orders for 250 or more, they request at least 48 hours notice. The cookies come in catering boxes with 12 or 120 treats apiece, and the average cost is $12 per dozen. The bakery does not yet offer delivery, but the owners are flexible in arranging pick-up times.
