Winner of the 2007 Jean Banchet award for best Chicago catering, Calihan Catering has an award-winning pastry chef, Pedro Gomez. The business, established in 1987, caters events off site or in its urban loft space, Gallery 1028. Signature dishes include herb-crusted tenderloin of beef, olive-oil-poached halibut, and a lemon passion fruit tart. Calihan Catering is the only Chicago catering company in the Chaine de Rotisseurs, an international gastronomic society in more than 70 countries devoted to promoting fine dining.
