OVERVIEW
Home to the Chicago Symphony Orchestra since it opened in 1904, the Symphony Center has undergone several remodels and expansions. It is now an immense music complex decorated in Georgian style (with pink brick, white limestone, and lintels), where top jazz, classical, and pop artists perform. Numerous rooms are available for rent; combined, they seat 1,200 or hold 2,500 for receptions. The largest room, Buntrock Hall, holds 575, while the Grainger Ballroom seats 210 or holds 400 for receptions. A ninth-floor outdoor terrace overlooking Lake Michigan holds 175. Six other event spaces can accommodate groups of as many as 295. Blue Plate Events is the exclusive caterer.
