The Goldenvoice-produced music and arts festival in the Southern California desert of Indio sells out tickets annually, even after a change in format in 2012 saw it expand to two weekends with the same lineup at the Empire Polo Club. Unofficial parties hosted by brands, largely in the media and fashion realms, take over surrounding towns, typically on the festival’s buzzier first weekend.
