The funky registration area at the World Economic Forum meeting demonstrated that not all conferences and trade shows need to have the same boring, boxy check-in areas. Simple kiosks designated the registration area for the high-profile event, which drew 3,000 politicians, business leaders, celebrities and other bigwigs to New York after the event was relocated from its traditional home in Davos, Switzerland. Forty-two desks were lined up and topped with large cones made of thick fabric and labeled with different letters of the alphabet to show the event's high-powered attendees where to find their registration info. The French division of international event company Publicis Worldwide created the booths and shipped them to New York for the conference.
