Adding a spin to the typical fashion show, event producers Jockstarzz Inc. took inspiration from the athletes who'd be modeling and created a sports-themed scene for the show. The runway was set up on a grassy area with football goalposts at the ends and orange and black director's chairs flanking each side. In addition, the show itself was divided into four quarters, complete with a halftime show by the Miami Street Band's drum line and commentary provided by CBS4's Jim Berry and Elyse Ranart, editor of City & Shore magazine.
When the show began, models, celebrities-including White Boy from the reality show I Love New York and Anchal Joseph from America's Next Top Model-as well as NFL players took to the runway in support of the Kevin Everett Foundation, which aims to find a cure for paralysis and help patients and families cope. The charity's namesake also hit the runway for his first-ever runway appearance since recovering from his life-threatening injuries last fall. DJs Cool and Dre kept the energy up throughout the show.
Attendees also received a Patron Tequila gourmet snack box filled with stadium treats to enjoy, including VitaminWater, a pretzel dog, and bags of popcorn, as well as trail mix provided by Michael's Kitchen. —Valerie Marks
