Launched on June 26, the Metropolitan Martini Company debuted cocktails in four flavorsGreen Apple, Chocolate, Cosmopolitan, and Vodka Martinithat are literally ready to drink at the peel of a label, not the twist of a shaker. Each plastic martini glass has a peel-away label covered by a lid that doubles as a coaster. The label can be customized with a company logo and/or event information. These 40- to 60-proof cocktails are great for corporate events, since the glasses just need to be refrigerated then servedplus the lids prevent spillage (great for winding through the crowds). They come in two-martini tubes or cases of 24, and the case has built-in holes for straps so wait staff can walk around with them. Starting in Fall 2006, if planners purchase a minimum of 100 cases (priced from $144.00 to $168.00 each), Mystique Brands LLC, the company behind the product, will supply martini bars for the event for an additional fee.
