At the end of June, Richard O’Malley joined Live Nation as the director of special events. His major task is to shed new light on the company’s three typically concert-booked venues in Manhattan. “I am responsible for renting out the Fillmore at Irving Plaza, the Blender Theater, and the Hilton Theater,” said O’Malley. “Some of the biggest event pros don’t know how great and versatile the places are for corporate or private meetings, conferences, and fashion shows—not just concerts.”

Focused on reshaping the image of the oft misconceived spaces, O’Malley is planning a “Party Like a Rock Star” event for 500 to 1,000 guests after Labor Day, which will involve two locations (most likely the Blender Theater and the Fillmore) in the same night.

O’Malley most recently served two years as the vice president of programs and education at the New York chapter of ISES, prior to which, he was the client service director at Drape Kings for four years.
