H Street Country Club, a bar and restaurant outfitted with games such as indoor miniature golf and shuffleboard, is set to open in the last week of May. In the Atlas District near Union Station, the 6,700-square-foot bilevel space has an industrial look with exposed brick walls and concrete floors.

The ground level is home to a vintage Art Deco-style bar with 25 stools and a 15-seat lounge area called the Locker Room and furnished with wooden benches. Beyond the bar there are two shuffleboard tables, two pool tables, two ski ball machines, and an open kitchen where cooking classes will be held. A small private dining room off the kitchen seats 12.

A narrow stairway leads to the second level and a 65-seat dining room, furnished with wide booths and 1950’s metal tables and chairs. Overhead are dozens of light fixtures fashioned from reclaimed toasters, coffee urns, and funky bird houses by local artist Lee T. Wheeler, who also painted the city landmark backdrops behind the floor's nine-hole miniature golf course.

The menu, developed by James Beard Award-winning chef Ann Cashion, is traditional and contemporary Mexicanthink spicy tamales, lobster tostadas, and lamb enchiladas. The Mexican menu continues at the bar, where bartenders will pour sangria, frozen margaritas, Mexican beers, and 20 different tequilas. The venue will be available for full buyout and has a capacity of 300.
