Modeled after traditional American brewpubs, the Heartland chain operates several locations, including one in the Empire State Building. The original Union Square venue, which holds 400, has dark wood, exposed brick, original murals, and copper and stainless steel brewing vessels. The 43rd Street pub holds 600, and the Midtown outpost holds 200. In 2010, the Heartland Brewery opened its seventh New York outpost in the Port Authority bus terminal. The location offers 160 seats, a mahogany bar, and a 27-foot-long copper mural.
