Does anyone really like "trust falls" or white-water rafting with the boss? Prevent eye-rolling (and promote bonding) with these actually enjoyable activities.

On the Cheap:
For those interested in exploring their creative sides, Bay Area artist Kelly Vaagsland’s Messy Monkey Arts packages let groups work together on art projects. Participants need not be expert artists to join in the activity, as they create pieces using unconventional tools like brooms or turkey basters. Teams name and price their works and are then free to mingle—with drinks and cookies in hand—for a gallery-style showing of the creations. For a more involved finale, participants in a just-for-laughs paint-off wear paper suits and hard hats equipped with brushes, and attempt to paint one another. A $4,000 package for groups of as many as 50 lasts two to three hours. MORE >>

Budget: RAWvolution offers an alternative to traditional summer grill items with a raw menu of eggless egg salad, mock tuna salad, and no-bean hummus (made with tahini, zucchini, sea salt, lemon juice, and olive oil) served with crispy onion bread and rosemary crackers. Keep the meal completely raw—and reap the benefits of improved hydration and energy levels that the uncooked cuisine is said to provide—with chocolate coconut haystacks (made with raw cacao) and goji-berry lemonade for $11 a head. Budget: Go for a classic barbecue dish with baby back ribs by Memphis Catering. Memphis rubs the pork with an in-house blend of spices and smokes it over hickory for six hours before serving it with barbecue sauce on the side. For $16 per guest, you can pair the ribs with two side items of your choice, such as baked macaroni salad or the house salad made with baby greens, candied pecans, and sherry wine vinaigrette.
