Christina Kaye Murphy joined the Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation in October as director of events and celebrity relations but has been in the event planning industry for eight years. She manages all talent booking for the organization and produces all Starlight Starbright events for the Los Angeles chapter, including the Stellar Night gala, which took place last week.

Entertainment: “I have watched Perry Smith go from a student musician to a full-fledged professional. His team is really talented, and he always works with what I need—big or small. He can do cool jazz, funk, or just nice ambient background music.”

Graphic Design: Jill Franks does beautiful and creative work and is an excellent source for ideas and concepts. She can definitely take what I’m thinking and turn it into a functional, gorgeous piece.” MORE >>

A kid- and family-heavy crowd came together on Friday evening for Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation's annual Stellar Night gala at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. High School Musical's Corbin Bleu assumed hosting duties for the event, which honored William and Elizabeth Shatner, as well as doctor Francine Kaufman for her work to fight childhood diabetes and obesity.

The program included musical performances by Dominic Scott Kay, a live auction, and a short video clip with mentions of all the sponsors (in lieu of a traditional sponsor book). Event director Christina Murphy used the imagery behind organization's name as design inspiration, with decor in dark hues in the ballroom, a wall full of projected stars, star-printed tablecloths, ice sculptures bearing the Starlight logo, and Swarovski napkin ornaments in star shapes. 1. Carousel of Hope
Usually called the Carousel Ball, this red-letter event on L.A.’s social calendar is such a production that it’s held only once every two years. The host is Barbara Davis, half of a Hollywood power couple with her late billionaire husband, former 20th Century Fox owner Marvin Davis. Their A-list friends will turn out in droves at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in October for this fund-raiser for children’s diabetes. MORE >>
