Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Unveils Upgrades to Lobby Bar, Patio Space
Hyatt Regency Century Plaza unveiled its new lobby court and patio in a media preview last week as part of the second phase of renovation for the Century City hotel, which originally debuted in 1966. Gensler Architecture has updated the 12,500-square-foot lobby court with textured gold metallic paint, mirrored walls, mother-of-pearl accents, and furnishings in red, black, and metallic hues. A permanent canopy now covers the court patio, creating the feeling of an inside space outdoors. Decor includes wood, bamboo, and grass elements.

The patio holds 90 for seated events and can be divided into three sections, each accommodating 30. The center section offers a conversation pit with a central ethanol-burning fireplace. At this time, only sections of the space—but not the whole—are available for buyouts. Bar and food service from the hotel's kitchen include classic versions of cocktails and internationally inspired small plates.
