To make guests feel at home, Harmony With No Limits took its third annual gala to a private estate in Santa Monica and raised close to $300,000 to benefit deaf and hard-of-hearing children in the No Limits theater program.
The nonprofit Harmony With No Limits figured the best way to get guests to open their wallets was to make them feel at home, so the group took its third annual gala to an appropriate venue: a private residence in Santa Monica. The event on Saturday night benefited the No Limits program, a theater group for deaf and hard-of-hearing children.

The outdoor cocktail hour featured passed hors d’oeuvres from David Myers (the chef behind Sona and Comme Ça) and sushi samples from soon-to-open eatery SugarFish by SushiNozawa. Silent-auction items including artwork, sports and entertainment memorabilia, and fashion and beauty items were on display throughout the yard, as was the raffle prize of a Toyota Smart Car.

Harmony With No Limits co-chair Mary Beth Broumand enlisted Tony Schubert of Event Eleven to handle the production. Schubert turned the home's outdoor tennis court into a ballroom-like setting for dinner. The dinner program, cohosted by Rich Eisen of NFL Total Access and Kelli Williams of ABC’s The Practice, included a performance by the band Oslo, award presentations, and a live auction.

During the program, graduates of No Limits stood on stage with current students and spoke about their experiences. “There are 280 kids on the waiting list, so our goal is to be able to accommodate more kids in the program,” Broumand said. Toward that goal, the gala raised nearly $300,000.
