Tea Time
A private home set up for high tea and spa services was the backdrop for a relaxed preview of Lyric Culture's new collection.
No one wants to spend a mild pre-Memorial Day afternoon holed up in some stuffy showroom. So rock-inspired apparel company Lyric Culture showed a preview of its new collection to press people and stylists in a far more homey, relaxed environment yesterday. Lyric Culture president Hanna Rochelle Schmieder invited the intimate group of guests to a private home, which typically exists as her company's workspace and showroom, for an afternoon viewing.

"If we're doing rock-star clothing, I like to work in a place where a rock star would live," Schmieder said. "It's off the beaten path." (Specifically, the venue is near Sunset and Doheny in West Hollywood.)

Schmeider put together simple flower arrangements from Trader Joe's blooms, and her mother catered a high-tea-style buffet of mini scones, strawberries, Prosecco, and a variety of tea sandwiches. Guests could snack casually in the home's landscaped backyard. The home's second and third floors offered spa treatments, like body scrubs and peels from Sonya Dakar, and spray tanning from Tan Naturelle.

On the way out, guests picked up WeBe bags, made from recycled feed bags, stuffed with the likes of Lyric Culture apparel, Sonya Dakar products, and rock CDs.
