Barbarella-Inspired Bar Opens in Silver Lake
Named after the 1968 cult classic Barbarella, Barbarella Bar officially opened in Silver Lake yesterday. The new bar offers a large selection of artisanal beer (more than 24 global microbrews on tap from Germany, Canada, Belgium, and the U.S.), an extensive wine list, and a menu that features world cuisine focused on organic meat, fish, and vegetables—plus significant vegan and vegetarian options.

The 4,300-square-foot bar, restaurant, and lounge features a 60-foot hand-crafted wooden bar fronted by plush suede stools with seating for 45, as well as an intimate lounge with tufted silver leather couches near the entrance.

Red leather banquets and mahogany tables look onto an expansive dance floor topped by a chandelier. For events, the venue has a high-tech Electro-Voice sound system. Though there are no private dining areas, V.I.P. and semiprivate areas can be arranged with bar management. Full buyouts are available.
