Svedka Serves Sexy Stories in L.A.
At Melrose Avenue bar Monroe's, Svedka vodka kicked off its erotica reading series with a performance by host Aisha Tyler and a whole lot of vodka cocktails. In the cozy, intimate space illuminated by little more than candles, the atmosphere was part hip sophistication and part college make-out party with low-slung chairs, gold metal curtains, whips on the tables, and the heady aroma of incense. DJ Pesce kept the mood fun and sexy, enticing people onto the dance floor by the end of the night. Svedka marketing director Marina Hahn and brand manager Geoff Curley oversaw the event.

The food by KMG Marketing was simple but abundant with tequila lime shrimp skewers, pastry shells with hummus and Kalamata olives and pesto chicken, and caprese skewers with mozzarella wrapped in basil, grape tomatoes, and balsamic vinegar drizzled on top. The real decadence was the dessert: pistachio towers and hazelnut pyramids, lemon meringue in a chocolate tart, and macaroons filled with raspberries and chocolate. Servers wearing tiny tanks emblazoned with "Servant" passed around the bite-sized treats on bamboo trays.

The evening culminated with a reading from Tyler's new book, Swerve: Reckless Observations of a Postmodern Girl. The excerpts kept the crowd laughing, proving that the former Talk Soup host can still dish up a little sexy humor. And Svedka made sure that guests didn't leave empty handed, offering gift bags with tiny bottles of vodka and T-shirts to match the servers'.
