| Pyro Party |
| Ocean's 13 premiered with a bash for 1,200 that featured fireworks launched from nearby Hollywood High School. |
|
| Like the team of characters in Ocean’s 13,
the film’s Hollywood premiere party on Tuesday was cool, clever, and depended on
impeccable execution. Warner Brothers’ publicity and special events team—including
Courtney Saylor, Troy Williams, Chad Hudson, and Bonnie Horton—produced the event
internally, tapping Mary Micucci and Along Came Mary as the production vendor to pull it all off. The event for 1,200 guests took place on
the parking lot behind the El Capitan Theatre (after the screening at the Chinese)
and implored a poolside-in-Vegas theme. |

V.I.P. guests relaxed in 16 cabanas, cream denim-covered
structures with off-white sheer pullbacks. The event featured a live
performance by the Sinatra-inspired band Cocktails With Joey and a five-minute
fireworks display from Pyro Spectaculars launched from the Hollywood High
athletic field—a rare occurrence in the middle of town.
The
Peking Acrobats troupe performed an array of eye-catching acts, including spinning
plates, spear and vase juggling, and contortion feats. And a 30- by 20-foot
water wall on a massive central truss structure rounded out the eye candy. The
whole affair took three days to set up. —Alesandra Dubin
