Chef Allen's recently appointed Dorian Barrera as its new catering sales manager. Barrera, former catering and sales manager at the Palm in Coral Gables-which closed in July-succeeds Carol Geiger, and has already begun work in her new role, marketing the restaurant on a national scale through event coordination.
"I want to give people as much information as I possibly can; once they trust that someone knows the product, they will have confidence that they want to have an event here," said Barrera.
After growing up in her father's restaurant in New Jersey, she decided to enter the field she knows best. Barrera will introduce a variety of events at Chef Allen's, including cooking classes and cocktail receptions with chef Allen Susser.
