Karu & Y Gains Gerry Kelly
Gerry Kelly, formerly of South Beach's nightspot The Fifth, has decided to part ways with his old company to take the position of vice president of marketing and sales with the recently reopened Karu & Y.

Kelly said that when Clive Seecomar, owner of Karu & Y, approached him about the job, he faced a difficult decision about whether or not to leave his post at the Fifth, which he had occupied for three years. However, he ultimately reached the conclusion that this offer was too enticing to pass up.

"Karu & Y is a crown jewel," said Kelly. "Our state of the art facility houses seven different concepts under one roof and whether you're black or white, rich or poor, gay or straight, I think you can find something here."

Kelly has worked at his new nightspot just more than a week and has already booked high-end clientele including Jean Paul Gaultier and Nike. Looking forward, he would like to see Karu & Y branded internationally, similar to what Nikki Beach has done.

Kelly brings 25 years of nightlife experience to the recently re-vamped restaurant/nightclub.
