| Palms South Beach Undergoes Makeover and Name Change |
|
In Spring 2009, the Palms South Beach will officially become the Palms Hotel and Spa. As part of a multi-million dollar renovation, the boutique-style hotel will soon offer guests a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of South Beach with the addition of the Palms Spa, the first Aveda oceanfront resort spa in Florida, opening in late January. In addition, the hotel will be introducing a natural gourmet restaurant and lounge, Essensia.
"We wanted to offer our guests a relaxing experience that would be unparalleled in the area," said Katja Janzon, vice president of marketing at the hotel. "What sets our hotel apart is a definitive island feel married with the world-class services and amenities of a city centre hotel. Even with the upgrades and renovations, the Palms will remain luxuriously casual."
Other renovations to be completed in early 2010 include new meeting spaces, improvements to the exterior, remodeled rooms and pool area, and tropical landscaping.
