Opium Group Moves Namesake Club From SoBe to Broward
The Opium Group celebrated the grand opening of its newest nightclub, Opium Hard Rock, on April 11 with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony by Kim Kardashian of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Previously located on South Beach under the moniker Opium Garden—the nightlife conglomerate’s first venture, which closed in November—the club moved off the beach to Broward County’s Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood in the former Spirits nightclub space.

The club's main area, dubbed the Shangri-La Room, channels the cabarets of Paris alongside Asian decor elements and all the fanfare of the Las Vegas strip, according to the club's designers, Francois Frossard and Mark Lehmkuhl.

The raised DJ booth and facing V.I.P. area, located on both sides of the main staircase, anchor the multilevel club, which includes a wraparound mezzanine. Large golden Buddha statues, oversize yellow lanterns, black crystal chandeliers, and red draping decorate the 6,000-square-foot space. Red and black faux-crocodile upholstered banquettes and chaise lounges provide seating throughout the venue.

The French Boudoir Room, located under the expansive staircase, can be used for private functions or as an additional V.I.P. area for approximately 200. The 2,000-square-foot room has its own bar and is decorated with pink, purple, and gold velvet wallpaper and curtains.

Opium Hard Rock can accommodate as many as 1,200 people for full buyouts.
