After eight months of delays, Ahnvee Restaurant and Lounge opened in South Beach on August 1. The New Orleans-inspired concept, whose name means “to crave” in Creole, occupies the former Club Deep space on Washington Avenue and is decorated with ebony hardwood floors, two-tiered crystal chandeliers, red accents, and wrought iron detailing.

The venue is comprised of two spacesa 3,000-square-foot lounge and a 6,000-square-foot restauranteach with its own performance stage. The lounge is outfitted with white and cayenne-colored couches for 50 and additional table seating for 100. There is also a 30-foot bar and 150-square-foot stage with live music Thursday through Sunday.

In the adjacent dining space, black leather high-back chairs at freestanding tables provide seating for about 140. Additionally, 10 cream-colored banquettes with seven-foot-high backs and built-in flat-screen TVs each provide intimate dining for six guests. At the far end of the dining room, a 400-square-foot glass-topped freshwater aquarium just two feet high doubles as another performance stage. A private room with a humidor, a round table, and oversize chairs for 16 is available.

Executive chef Tom Azar oversees the menu, which features traditional New Orleans’ staples like étouffée, jambalaya, and gumbo, as well as fresh fish and Wagyu steaks.

Ahnvee Restaurant and Lounge can seat 300 or hold as many as 600 for a reception.
