Once the last award was announced, dinner was served. Subtly changing lighting created a different ambience for each course. The first course was an Everglades seafood salad, followed by osso buco served with tricolor au gratin potato, a root vegetable basket filled with wild mushrooms, baby turnips and carrots, golden beets, and fried basil. A variety of citrus butters and Mediterranean spreads shaped as palm trees, flamingos, and alligators were presented with baskets of assorted breads and crackers. By the time dessert was over, the room was awash in color, and it was time for the party to begin.
Wizard Connection's 16- by 48-foot lighted dance floor and music by 17-piece band Funhouse Extreme got attendees on their feet. Those who weren't dancing found their way back to the ice bar, where s'mores were served in graham cracker-and-chocolate-lined martini glasses. Guests roasted marshmallows on miniature flame pots at the martini dessert bar. A lounge full of funky, contemporary furniture from Cort Event Furnishings offered a place to relax until the party wound down.
