Say good-bye to the fixed screen. The FogScreen (949.528.3807, www.fogscreen.com) produces a thin curtain of "dry" fog that serves as a translucent projection screen, displaying images that literally float in the air. This stand-alone product uses nothing more than tap water and ultrasonic waves. FogScreen machines are used for product launches, trade shows, restaurants, nightclubs, museums, and casinos. The screen is available in two models, Inia and One. The Inia has a fixed screen size of two meters (79 inches) wide and 1.5 meters (59 inches) high. The One is one meter (39 inches) wide, but multiple Ones can be linked to form a seamless projection screen of any width, almost without limit. FogScreen is available for sale starting at just under $100,000, with rental starting at $3,500 for a one-day event. The company has just introduced an interactive feature where you can now turn the screen into a computer touch screen. The set comes with software that uses a laser tracker to track hand movements. Connected to a PC, the screen allows the use of any Windows-based program.
