Founded in 1993, hip-hop music label Slip-N-Slide Records chose the Hotel Victor to host its 15th anniversary celebration on December 11. The label worked with event planner Stacey Feldman of Peacock Marketing Group L.L.C. to channel its Miami roots and create an untraditional tropical paradise for the occasion.

"We wanted to steer clear of creating a luau-esque environment," said Feldman.

Instead, she channeled her efforts in creating a Garden of Eden for the nearly 500 music execs, V.I.P.s, and artists in attendance (including the label's big names like Rick Ross, Trina, and Plies). Models strategically painted with green ivy to resemble Eve directed guests up to the hotel's pool deck.

In addition to bars sponsored by Barefoot Wines, Absolut 100, and main sponsor Bombay Sapphire, the pool area boasted two baby white tigers (caged, of course) and a costumed model floating in the pool on a giant orchid-all of which served dual purposes as entertainment and decor.

Across the rooftop from the pool area, the lounge-where Keith Sweat later performed-was kept intimate with small groupings, spandex-covered highboys, and sheer draping in tropical colors including green, gold, and purple, highlighted with interwoven strings of lights.

The hotel's on-site eatery Vix served an array of hors d'oeuvres such as skewered buffalo mozzarella with prosciutto and rock shrimp dumplings, as well as a variety of desserts including chocolate lollipops.
