| Low Leaves Event Director Post at Natural History Museum |
|
At the end of June, Sheri Low will depart from the American Museum of Natural History as the director of special events after nearly a decade in the position. In addition to overseeing more than a dozen events a year, including the big annual fall gala, the next director is tasked with managing the museum’s benefit and cultivation event program, and handling exhibition openings, donor receptions, and five fund-raisers, which gross more than $5 million annually.
Low, who is preparing for the museum’s 16th annual corporate dinner tomorrow night, could not be reached for comment. While keeping mum on the whereabouts of Low’s next job, a rep from the communications office did confirm she will not be retiring after leaving her post. The museum is still in the process of finding a replacement.
In related news, Nielsen Business Media, a global information and media firm based in New York and the Netherlands, appointed Mark Hosbein to the newly created position of senior vice president of marketing. Hosbein, who most recently worked as senior vice president of brand management and advertising for Discover Card, was tapped to upgrade Nielsen's audience marketing, which includes viral and word-of-mouth campaigns on their online and print platforms and at various trade shows.
