The American Museum of Natural History has appointed Anne MacGillivray as director of special events, a position she will assume in August. MacGillivray leaves her post as director of special events at the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, where she worked for nearly seven years, producing the foundation's biggest annual events, including the spring gala (one of our Top 100).  As we reported in June, the museum lost former director Sheri Low to the New York City Ballet.

When MacGillivray begins her new position at the museum next month, she will be able to use the full Crayola palette—not just pink—when planning the annual fall gala in addition to four other fund-raisers and various exhibition openings. A spokesperson at BCRF could not be reached to confirm a replacement.
