Bon Appétit's Pop-Up to Return With New Line Up, New Partners

Following a successful run last year, Bon Appétit is bringing back its Supper Club and Café pop-up concept for the last two weeks of this month. Returning to the same Midtown site at 57th Street and Broadway, the magazine will again host free public cooking demonstrations and book signings with big-name chefs during the day as well as use its temporary venue as a place for private events at night.

"The supper club and café is a great format for our brand, audience, and sponsors," said Terri Smith, Bon Appétit's executive director of creative services, who is heading up the planning team again. "And everyone loves a good meal."

New this time round are a number of different components, including the line up of big-name chefs who will participate in the daytime events as well as put together the lunch menu of soups, salads, and sandwiches for sale in the café on a daily basis. The list includes household names like Mario Batali, Tyler Florence, and Cat Cora, as well as those that are perhaps lesser known outside the foodie world, include Claudia Fleming, Michael Psilakis, and Johnny Iuzzini.

"We're always looking to balance the names you know, with names you should know," Smith said.

The food magazine also has new partners to design the look of the supper club and help execute the programming. The design will be created by event production and design firm Relevent, while the back-of-house operations will be handled by Danny Meyer's Hudson Yards Catering. As for the sponsors, the list is, as Smith put it, "equally impressive" as last year, going beyond food and drink companies to include other lifestyle brands.

The Bon Appétit Supper Club and Café will open to the public on Thursday, October 23, and run through to Friday, October 31.
