Last night Michael Dorf unveiled his latest project, City Winery, to the press. Dorf, the man who created the Knitting Factory, is opening a 21,000-square-foot wine-making venue with two bars, a restaurant, a stage for performances, and a cheese bar from Murray's Cheese Shop. Although the space isn't slated to open to the public until January, City Winery is currently hosting private events within its unfinished facility.

Hardwood floors and original wooden beams dominate the look of the venue, which also features views of its barrels through floor-to-ceiling glass windows. Located in the western reaches of SoHo, City Winery is designed for a variety of events, including concerts, cocktail parties, private dinners, and wine-tasting functions. The main street-level area will seat 250 or hold 500 for receptions, with additional space for smaller groups in the private rooms.
