| We're Blanketing the Capital for the Inauguration—and We Want Your Take, Too |
|
The inauguration and the multitude of related events taking over the capital in the coming days promise to be the biggest event industry story of the year—because of the sheer volume of balls, parties, and promotions happening at one time, and because it will put the power of in-person gatherings back in the spotlight in a tough time for the event industry.
So naturally, we're devoting considerable resources to covering what's happening in Washington. Our New York-based news editor, Courtney Thompson, and columnist, Ted Kruckel, are heading to the capital to report from as many parties as they can physically get to, joining bureau chief Walter Nicholls and a team of local reporters and photographers. We'll be posting their reports starting on Monday.
We can't possibly get to everything, though—so we'd like to hear from you, too. If you're going to inaugural events, tell us what you're seeing and thinking. If you're at home watching the proceedings on TV, send us your take on that, too. What do you think of the stages, the performances, the crowds? We'll include the most interesting comments in our coverage.
Send your opinions (and photos, too, if possible) to edit@bizbash.com. Please include your name, title, and company, and whether we can publish your name. One more thing: This isn't intended to be a self-promotion vehicle, so if you're working on the event you're telling us about, make that clear—this is a time to focus on truth, justice, and the American way, no?
