1. International Hotel, Motel, and Restaurant Show
About 35,000 attendees and more than 1,250 exhibitors—including 200 first-time vendors—filled the Javits Center for this November 2008 trade show. The 93-year-old event sponsored by the American Hotel & Lodging Association returns in November 2009.

2. NYU’s Hospitality and Investment Conference
In its 30th year, this industry networking event brought hotel bigwigs like Marriott C.E.O. J. Willard Marriott Jr. and Donald and Ivanka Trump to the Waldorf-Astoria in 2008. The conference returns May 31 to June 2.

3.HSMAI Adrian Awards
The so-called Oscars of the travel and hospitality marketing industry, the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International presented this annual evening for 1,000 on January 26 at the New York Marriott Marquis.
