Business Entertaining 2009: Where to Go on the Upper West Side
Bars: Home to some of the city’s most noted restaurants, the Time Warner Center also houses Clo Wine Bar and Shop, a small, 75-person spot with interactive touch-screen wine lists embedded in the surface of a communal table. In the same building, small groups can head to the Mandarin Oriental hotel’s MObar, a polished venue decorated in sculpted brownstone and leather upholstery.

Restaurants: Daniel Boulud’s wine- and charcuterie-focused joint opposite Lincoln Center, Bar Boulud, has a 14-seat doughnut-shaped table for tastings and three areas on the lower level for groups. Later this spring, the owners of Flatiron district restaurant A Voce will open a second eatery, in the space Café Gray once occupied inside the Time Warner Center.

Private Room: Joining the growing list of upscale eateries near Lincoln Center, the Jeffrey Chodorow-owned Center Cut is a steak-focused restaurant sporting mahogany paneling and terrazzo floors complemented by embroidered upholstery and wrought-iron railings. The rear of the L-shaped space houses the 24-seat private dining room; for larger groups, portions of the main room can be separated by curtains.
