| Girls Night Out |
| To debut and demonstrate its latest beauty products to editors, Victoria's Secret hosted an evening press event that combined shopping with makeup touch-ups and cocktails. |
|
Typically gift bags are given as guests are leaving, but at Thursday night's press launch for Victoria's Secret Beauty, attendees received their bags as they entered. Held at the Gabarron Foundation Carriage House Center for the Arts, the early evening cocktail party gathered about 75 beauty editors to introduce them to the new VS Makeup collection, an update on the brand's previous selection of products.
Styled much like the gifting suites that surround major Hollywood award shows, the event provided empty bags and prompted guests to fill them with items like lip gloss and eye shadow and get fitted for free bras, dresses, and swimsuits. To produce a girly, pink-hued look for the night, Allison Greenberg, Victoria's Secret Beauty's director of public relations, recruited designer Jes Gordon of Jes Gordon/ProperFun. |

Swathed in pink velvet and sprinkled with faux pink diamonds, the first two floors of the Murray Hill town house held several stations for editors to touch, apply, and play with lip gloss, foundation, and eye shadow while sipping cocktails and chatting with representatives from Victoria's Secret. In-house makeup artists provided touch-ups, and Marcey Brownstein Catering & Events passed nibbles like goat cheese-stuffed dates with lavender honey, chili chive salmon tartare on potato gaufrettes, and cracked wheat and parsley salad served on a flower-shaped cucumber.
As an added plus, any editors who didn't want to lug their haul home could leave their goodies with Victoria's Secret reps and have them messengered to their office.
