People and Time Team Up for White House Correspondents Weekend Party
Cohosting, it appears, is the order of the day for media companies throwing parties before and after this year’s White House Correspondents' Association dinner Saturday, May 9, at the Hilton Washington.

Time Inc. publications Time and People will jointly host a cocktail reception Friday evening at Astor Terrace at the St. Regis. Expected to attend are some of the entertainers who will be at the People table the following night: Sting and his wife, Trudie Styler, along with Miranda Cosgrove, Kevin Bacon, Forest Whitaker, Jon Hamm, Eva Longoria Parker, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, and Brooke Shields and her husband, Chris Henchy. Time has not released its dinner guest list.

Earlier this week, Bloomberg News and Vanity Fair announced they will, for the first time, jointly host an after-party for 300 guests at the residence of French Ambassador Pierre Vimont. In past years, the Bloomberg party has been the most coveted invitation in town, while Vanity Fair's newer entry was smaller in scope.

In another joint effort, National Journal Group, The Atlantic, and ABC will host a Friday night dinner at the Hilton.

Not everyone is teaming up. Niche Media’s Capitol File magazine will throw an after-party for 500 to 600 guests at the Corcoran Gallery of Art with decor by André Wells of Events by André Wells. Haddad Media president Tammy Haddad is making plans for her annual brunch on Saturday, held at her home in Georgetown. No venue has been announced yet, but The McLaughlin Group host John McLaughlin will host his annual Sunday brunch to wrap up the weekend.

Correction: This story has been changed to reflect that Events by André Wells will do the decor for the Capitol File party.
