Near the Brooklyn Academy of Music in Fort Greene, the former Williamsburg Savings Bank is currently being redeveloped into condo units and will, in September, be home to a new venue for meetings, dinners, and cocktail receptions. The Clocktower at One Hanson, as the event space is called, will be converted by the owners of Skylight and Skyline Studios & Gallery into a 15,000-square-foot facility with 10,000 square feet of usable space on the ground floor (not actually in the building's clock tower).

Since the site is landmarked, none of the changes being made are cosmetic, leaving much of the historic architecture—soaring 75-foot ceilings and wooden teller stations located around the perimeter of the room—intact. The Clocktower will also retain many of its cathedral-like characteristics and historic decor, including marble floors and old murals of New York as a Dutch colony. The space will hold as many as 1,000 for receptions and at present is available for photo shoots.
