| Movie Pictures: A Look at Meatballs, Zombieland, Law Abiding Citizen, and Whip It Premieres |

| FROM LOS ANGELES In some parts of the world, fall brings crisp weather and colorful leaves that crunch under foot. In Los Angeles, it brought a hyper-busy event calendar filled with parties that included movie premieres packed with ideas—like an army of zombies, oversize donuts that hung overhead, and decor that begged to be admired but definitely not touched. Here is a selection of photos from the arrivals scenes and bashes for Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, Zombieland, Whip It, and Law Abiding Citizen. |

 | For the Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs premiere, overseen by Sony's Alison Bossert, oversize food props decorated the red carpet arrivals produced by 15/40 Productions at Mann's Village Theatre. With many kids at the lunch-time screening, 15/40 created lunch boxes filled with sustenance for the young crowd, who also picked up stuffed toys when they left.

 | Costumed characters from Knott's Scary Farm, along with fans painted by makeup artists to look like zombies—for more than 150 monsters in all—created a creepy look on the red carpet for Zombieland. Sony's Bossert also oversaw the event.

 | For Overture Films' October 6 Law Abiding Citizen premiere party, Wendy Creed channeled the look of a jail cell by setting up a bar topped with real razor wire. LED video tiles evoked fire (an important plot point); cables that connected individual tiles transmitted power as well as electronic control signals. The four-by-five-foot projection wrapped 360 degrees.

 | For the September 29 premiere party for Fox Searchlight's Whip It, also produced by 15/40 in the area behind the El Capitan Theatre, guests could get dolled up at hair, makeup, and temporary tattoo stations. Members of Los Angeles the roller derby league team the Derby Dolls, came to enliven the red carpet, produced by 15/40.

 | A V.I.P. area at the Whip It party got a skate rink look, with bleacher seating, lounge furniture, and rink-like flooring. Fox Searchlight's Ruth Busenkell and Deva Kehoe oversaw the event.
