Despite some hiccups—construction delays and lawsuits waged by community groups—Donald Trump's newest New York hotel is now expected to open early next year. The Trump SoHo, which broke ground in May 2007, is slated to open February 1 with 391 guest rooms, restaurant Quattro Gastronomia Italiana, a bilevel spa, and plenty of meeting space. Designed by Handel Architects—with interiors from the Rockwell Group—the 46-story glass tower on Spring Street is one of the tallest buildings in the area and offer views of the surrounding neighborhood.

Trump SoHo will be home to the first New York outpost of Quattro Gastronomia Italiana, a popular Northern Italian restaurant in South Beach. To design the 3,800-square-foot eatery, the Trump Hotels Collection brought in Studio A Design, the same company that worked on the spot in Miami. The bilevel dining room will be decorated with black granite, beveled mirrors, and a palette of emerald green and tan. A 1,200-square-foot mezzanine will house two private dining rooms.

Other public spaces for drinking and dining will include a nightclub called Bazaar, a seasonal cocktail space called Bar d'Eau on the seventh floor's 6,000-square-foot pool deck, and the library, a lobby lounge furnished with shelves of Taschen art and design books, a fireplace, and custom cherry blossom wallpaper.

For business gatherings, the entire third floor of the Trump SoHo is dedicated to events and meetings and includes four rooms, two prefunction areas, and a covered terrace. The largest of these is the SoHo Ballroom, a 3,900-square-foot section that can be separated into two spaces; undivided the room holds 400 for receptions or seats 340 banquet-style. Upstairs on the 46th floor will be SoHi, an intimate penthouse with 1,700 square feet and a capacity of 150 for receptions.
